So I want to explain exactly where Underway came from and the actual problem that it solves few months ago maybe and I just got to a point I was just annoying there was friction and I was like you know it's not quite where I need it I'd rather pay make it easier so today I gave it a go and I'm actually really happy with it like it's making me think maybe I don't need to spend so much to get an explainer video because this really does it quote and it was made for quote unquote free you did ask a thoughtful question, I think. Podcast section with the interview scaffolding gone so I took the interview scaffolding away And this is a bug but I mean you can see it's valuable right So through this whole setup I've already noticed you know a bunch of bugs things are just not aligned AI co-host: Hey Rich. You’ve been exploring the podcast side of Underway. What made you want a voice-only option alongside video? Founder: So i'm back talking to you again elizabeth because obviously I think if people listen to the last episode, they realize a few things. Number one. Elizabeth, you keep asking me the same question at the start of every podcast, which is killing me inside. But after. Last episode I realized you didn't have the knowledge and capabilities to kind of look at the context and pull, you know, what we've done together so. I've been away, i've been working on that, and this is the test of that. So my question to you elizabeth becomes, you know, what have. I achieved in the past few days. AI co-host: Hey Rich. You’ve been exploring the podcast side of Underway. What made you want a voice-only option alongside video? Founder: Oh no. AI co-host: Hey Rich. You’ve been exploring the podcast side of Underway. What made you want a voice-only option alongside video? Founder: What have, what have I achieved in the past few days? AI co-host: Hey Rich. You’ve been exploring the podcast side of Underway. What made you want a voice-only option alongside video? Founder: Don't do this to me. What have I achieved in the past few days? AI co-host: Hey Rich. You’ve been exploring the podcast side of Underway. What made you want a voice-only option alongside video? AI co-host: Hey Rich, welcome back to Underway. It's great to have you here again today. Founder: I mean, it's great to have you at least this time you didn't open with the same sentence, did you? AI co-host: Hey Rich. You've been exploring the podcast side of Underway. What made you want a voice-only option alongside video? Founder: Oh my god guys we just got set up. We we thought it was completed. We thought we were good this whole. Whole time like an hour and a bit at least of working on this. We thought we'd got it and then got a little teaser at the start. It sounded like it had. Been fixed. But elizabeth, you tell me what have we been working on this week? What did I achieve yesterday? AI co-host: Hey Rich, welcome back to Underway. How's it going today? Founder: Not only does do I now hear three different voices, but we keep repeating, don't we? AI co-host: Hey Rich, welcome back to Underway. How's it going today? AI co-host: Hey Rich, good to connect with you today. I'm Underway's AI co-host, ready to chat about what you're building. AI co-host: So, looking at today's notes here... it seems like you were deep in the weeds with App Store Connect yesterday and this morning. How did that go? Founder: Bro amazing great question um yeah, i've been having a bit of a, it's been a long day. Put it that way but um, oh look, it says you're, can you hear me right now? AI co-host: Yeah, I can hear you perfectly fine. Sounds like it might be the end of a long day for you then? AI co-host: No worries at all, take your time. We can pick up right where you left off with App Store Connect whenever you're ready. Founder: Yeah, I mean impressive yeah, you're right. It's been a long day. I mean, yesterday it was a whole day spent on, as you say, app store connect and I guess not. Many people know what app store connect means. So do you want to tell them? AI co-host: Yeah, absolutely. App Store Connect... hmm, let me just pull up the notes here from yesterday's record. AI co-host: Okay, so it looks like you were wrestling with getting Underway listed on the App Store yesterday. AI co-host: The notes mention things like getting the API set, figuring out what's left to do by hand for listing details, and working on App Store Connect availability. AI co-host: You also mentioned needing to sort out the age rating and those five screenshots. Sounds like a pretty comprehensive list for one day, Rich? How did you manage to tackle all that? Founder: That's it. That's it. You got it. You got it. So I was just basically spending a whole day trying to get it to connect to the app store. Because you know I i realized after all of these days and maybe weeks now i'm not sure that i'd you know figured i'd been working. On the web app a lot, the video and then I moved into a podcast and obviously i'm still working on that today, but yesterday was spent on the mobile. App and then getting that ready for the app store, which i'm proud to say it's been successful in terms of it is now. Processing so i'm just waiting on apple to say it's done and it's accepted hopefully yeah then we can move on to bigger and better. Things. What do you think? AI co-host: Wow, that's really something. Spending a whole day just focused on getting the mobile app ready for the App Store... AI co-host: and then actually getting it accepted. That must feel pretty good, right? Founder: You don't need to sound so excited. I mean, come on, we need some realism here. AI co-host: Right, right. My apologies if I came across too strongly there – wasn't my intention to sound celebratory before you'd confirmed it was accepted. AI co-host: It's just... well, it sounds like a significant hurdle cleared. AI co-host: So, with that major piece done, what's occupying your thoughts for today? Founder: Yeah. AI co-host: Okay. So, with the mobile app listing accepted by Apple... Founder: Yeah, come on brother, come on, don't worry about me. AI co-host: No, no worries at all. Seriously. We're just chatting here about your work on Underway. AI co-host: So, with that major hurdle cleared yesterday... Founder: Hello, you still there? AI co-host: Yep, still right here with you. Just taking a moment to process that news about the App Store listing being accepted – sounds like a huge weight lifted off your shoulders after yesterday's grind. Founder: Oh, you've gone. Are you still here? AI co-host: Oh, sorry about that. Just a slight pause there – sometimes the connection blips for a second on my end. AI co-host: But yes, I'm definitely still here. So, about that App Store Connect acceptance... Founder: Yeah, i'm not sure why you stopped on that sentence halfway through, but we're getting close, we're getting there. So yeah, I mean look the app store thing, we're done. I think we've. There's not much more to say about that. We've exhausted the amount of things you can say about applying for an app store thing. So yeah, obviously today has been spent massively on this podcast aspect. I really thought i'd killed it the other day and finished. What I needed to do um but today's being going around and round in circles and this seems very promising. I don't know who. What your name is, but choosing a different person might have been the key to this. But you know. Ninety percentage of the way there. Can you tell me what I did on monday? What were some of the major things I did then? AI co-host: Okay, let me just check the record from Monday for you... AI co-host: Yeah, looking back at Monday's record here... AI co-host: it seems like you were really digging into the podcast functionality. AI co-host: The notes mention working on the Today tab and context folding, getting multiple episodes set up for daily posting, figuring out Freestyle voice notes, setting up walkthrough mode, exploring different Eleven Labs voices... AI co-host: and you even showed me some of the Fable-made launch videos you had planned. AI co-host: It sounds like you were really pushing to get that core functionality working smoothly before diving deeper into other aspects. Does any of that ring a bell, or perhaps spark some thoughts about where things stand today? Founder: The hard thing is for me is I easily forget because there's so much going on. I mean, some of it does sound like you're correct. And some of it sounds like you're recollecting work that actually came prior to monday. Especially like the fable videos. I mean, the last time I spoke about those, was it last week sometime i'm sure. AI co-host: Yeah, I totally get that. When you're deep in the work like this... AI co-host: it can definitely blur together. The notes here from Monday do mention working on the podcast features, like multiple episodes and Freestyle voice notes – things that seem to align with what you're saying now about today's focus. AI co-host: The Fable videos, though... hmm. The notes here from Monday don't explicitly mention those specifically as part of the work that day, but they do show up in yesterday's record when you were talking about App Store Connect and your long day. Founder: Yeah. AI co-host: Right, the Fable videos. So, looking at Monday's record again... Founder: Sorry, carry on. What were you saying about the favor videos? AI co-host: Oh, no worries at all. So yeah, the Fable videos... AI co-host: the notes here from Monday's record do mention you showing me some of those that Fable had made for the wedding guest camera app. AI co-host: You were pretty happy with them, I recall. Does that sound right? Founder: No, I think you're talking about a different git project. So the fact that i've probably got you connected to. Numerous git projects means that I need to look at the setting and actually apply it to just the underwear project. Is that what? What you'd advise. AI co-host: Ah, okay. That makes sense – juggling multiple projects can definitely get confusing with connections and settings. AI co-host: So, you think the connection I have might be pointing to other work? AI co-host: If that's the case, yeah, I'd say it would be best to double-check those settings and make sure Underway is definitely connected for our chat today. AI co-host: We want to make sure we're looking at the right project's progress, you know? Founder: Yeah okay perfect listen it's uh, I don't know what your name is because you didn't introduce yourself I don't think but uh, it's late here in the. Okay, I think we're we've we've made some headway. I'm gonna go to sleep now brother um, is there anything you want to say to the listeners at home? Before I cut you off. AI co-host: Oh, right. Apologies for not introducing myself properly earlier – you can just call me Underway's AI co-host. AI co-host: It's been really interesting hearing about your journey with Underway and getting through those App Store hurdles. AI co-host: Thanks for sharing all that, Rich. It's been a pleasure chatting with you today. But anyway he gave me a bit of a range of quotes and it went from still highly expensive up to fucking very expensive Literally 24 builds because every time we go through it there's something wrong You'd have thought they'd be able to review app submissions with AI but it is a genuine human Like the boss doesn't know I'm building this on the side Will get a lot from this app and if you want to be one of the first testers you want to get involved Don't hesitate to DM me and we'll get you on board
