23 people got signed up, but we've only got about eight into the app. It's not very good metrics, is it? And only one of them made their episode zero, their first one. Do I need to make it even easier? Do I need to take away some buttons? Do I need to just focus them in on just creating that first episode?
I've created what we call AI influencers, who are basically the avatars of people who I can envision using underway. I'm going to create a separate Instagram, a separate YouTube, everything away from my personal, that just puts out that content. Video's got so good that it can do that, and I don't have to record it myself.
We did 19 searches, 33 new people, 20 with a company site, and two kept. I have asked Claude why two kept, because I want them all. Spent two cents to do that. In the background, I'm having it create sequences, so there would be four or five emails that go out and it would stop upon a reply.
Got signups through the night and I thought, that's cool. But then I go into them and I look and all of them are getting stuck and they're not even far into the app. They're not using it. I'm like, what?
We also started X ads today, so I'm going to lose more money. I'm good at that at the minute, losing money, pretty good, successful. Running ads to the least fictitious way, join for free and get free episodes, I think might be the worst decision ever. 105,000 impressions yesterday. We spent $500.
You'll see a lot of this stuff, I find bugs as I go, and it is what it is. But in terms of an experience, I think it's pretty flawless.
We're back and we've added more features because we're addicted to features, and building an app is about forget customers, let's just build features. I know that's the wrong way to be, but whilst I'm waiting for customers to pay, you know.
Instead of it just having a random title like episode 65, I made a decision yesterday, and I messaged my Facebook ads guy and said, look, let's keep doing this, let's keep testing, getting people to come through the funnel, get in free, and let's see how it goes. We learn a lot. But let's just send traffic to a page to buy. We won't know unless we try.
This is the first Watch Me Work episode. It's just a bit of a test to see how it works. But I realised building in public is not just about presenting what I've done and what I've finished, but also the process. And in that same thought process, I thought, do you know what, I'm going to create landing pages. If I'm going to send page traffic to a page to convert people to sign up to pay, then the landing pages that they land on need to be really good. When they land on that page, they have to be good enough to make people take out their card. So I created them.
