New in underway
post to tiktok from desktop, straight from your episode
13 October 2026 · 3 min read
Post on Xyou can post to tiktok from desktop in two ways: upload the file on tiktok.com yourself, or press post to tiktok on a finished underway episode and let it go straight to your profile. as of 13 october 2026 the second way posts in public, to everyone you choose.
the short version
tiktok checks every app that posts on someone's behalf, twice. first it approves the app. then it audits the posting itself before the app may post anywhere but a private account.
underway's app was approved in september. the posting audit passed on 13 october. until then, post to tiktok only worked for a handful of testers, on private accounts, and the button was greyed and marked in review for everyone else.
now the button works for every member on the series plan, on the website and the phone, and posts go to whoever you pick: everyone, your followers, friends, or only you.
how to post to tiktok from desktop with tiktok itself
tiktok.com lets you upload from a computer. sign in, press upload, drag the video in, write the caption, choose who can see it and post. it works, and for a one-off video it is fine.
the cost is everything around it. you download the file from wherever it was made, find it again, write a caption from nothing, and do the same on youtube, instagram and linkedin. for a daily series that is the part people stop doing first.
how to post to tiktok from desktop with underway
underway makes the episode from an interview, so by the time it is finished the file and the words already exist.
connect tiktok once, on account, connections. tiktok shows its own sign-in page and asks you to allow posting. underway only gets your display name and the right to post; it never reads your feed.
then on a finished episode, press post to tiktok. the caption is already written from what you said, and you can change it. tiktok's own questions come next, laid out the way tiktok asks: who can see it, with nothing chosen for you; whether comments, duets and stitches are allowed; and whether the post promotes a business, yours or someone else's, with the label tiktok will put on it.
press post and the file goes from underway to tiktok's upload, and lands on your profile. post everywhere does the same for every network you ticked, one row each, so you see each one go.
shorts go too
find clips cuts short vertical clips from an episode, each opening on a line most likely to stop a scroll and ending on a card that says where the full episode is. each clip has its own caption box per network, tiktok included, and its own post button.
underway's own account now sends its clips to tiktok every day alongside instagram, youtube shorts, linkedin and x, through the same buttons, marked as promoting its own brand as tiktok's rules ask.
what it never does
nothing goes to tiktok unless you press it. there is no setting that posts every episode on its own, and who can see a post is asked every time, because tiktok asks every time and a setting answered once is how the wrong thing goes out.
branded content, a post paid for by someone else, can never be posted as only you. that is tiktok's rule and the sheet follows it.
and the episode itself is never cut for tiktok. a landscape episode goes as the file you filmed; a portrait one is already the shape tiktok wants.
faqs
can you post to tiktok from desktop?
yes. tiktok.com lets you upload from a computer, and underway posts a finished episode or clip from the website with one press, straight to your profile.
which plan posts to tiktok?
posting from the episode is part of the series plan. on the founder plan the tiktok caption is still written for every episode, to copy and post yourself.
does underway post to tiktok without asking?
no. every post is a press of post to tiktok or post everywhere, and tiktok's questions about who can see it are answered each time.
why was the tiktok button marked in review before?
tiktok audits posting separately from approving the app. until that audit passed on 13 october 2026, an app could only post to private accounts, so the button was open to testers only.
