the episode page has four tabs

the short version

an episode's page has four tabs now: the cut, details, share and footage. the cards tab is gone, and nothing on it was lost.

  • the cover moved to the top of share, because it is the first thing anyone sees of a post, and that is where the post is made
  • how the episode opens moved to details: the card itself, drawn live as you type its name and its line, previously on, what opens the episode, the cards in it, and burn captions into the video
  • the look for one episode, its colours, the pictures behind its cards and its transition, sits at the foot of details, closed, under this episode looks different from the series

why it changed

the cards tab did three jobs at once. it said what was in the episode, it changed how the episode looked, and it chose the cover. the cover was the odd one out: you choose a cover for the post, so choosing it two tabs away from posting meant going back and forth every time.

and the look of one episode was right there in the open, every episode, inviting a change. the whole point of a series is that episode 12 and episode 40 are recognisably the same show. the look is set once, under brand, for every episode, and that is where it should change.

what each tab is for now

  • the cut: the episode playing, with the words under it to strike or restore. the only tab with the player
  • details: what the episode is called and how it opens. the name, the description, the chapters, the line under the card, and the card itself, live
  • share: the cover, then where the episode goes: your page, youtube, linkedin, tiktok, instagram, x, the clips cut from it, and the podcast feed
  • footage: every take as you filmed it

the card, live

the card on details is the real one: the same page the episode is drawn from, in your brand. change the name and it changes, with the name rising into place and the accent rule drawing itself, the way it plays. press one of the cards in it and it plays on the cut.

the rare episode that looks different

a launch, a season opener, the episode you want people to notice is different. open this episode looks different from the series at the foot of details and change its colours, the pictures behind its cards or its transition. each has a way back to the series, and nothing here touches any other episode.

if you find yourself opening it every week, change brand instead: that changes every episode from then on, and a series that looks the same every time is the one people recognise in a feed.

on the phone

the phone has the same four tabs in the same order. share opens on the cover, with the same words, frames and buttons as the web. the episode's own look is set on the web, and details has a button that opens it there.

where did the cover go?

to the top of the share tab, with both shapes side by side for a landscape episode, and each clip's own cover under its clip.

where are previously on and what opens the episode?

on details, beside the card, under how the episode is listed.

can i still give one episode its own colours?

yes. open this episode looks different from the series at the foot of details.

did anything change about my episodes?

no. nothing about any episode changed; only where the controls sit.

the look of every episode is set once, under brand. start a series.
