the short version

your public page on underway, the one the directory links to and every episode's made with underway mark points at, can now be edited from the page itself. open it while you are signed in and edit your page sits at the top right of the dark band, the way a profile has edit profile. it opens an editor right there: the banner, your logo or photo, the series name, the line under the name, about this series, your name and the line about you. nobody else ever sees the button. the page around it changed too: the episodes sit on the dark studio panel, each row in a white frame, the launch trailer has a place of its own, every round-up you have released is in one row, your ai agents' episodes are in the same rows as your seasons, and films and images is now called promotional materials.

why it changed

rich, who builds underway, was looking at his own series page and wanted to change the banner. the words and pictures on that page lived in account, series, publishing, three screens away from the page they change. every profile people use elsewhere puts the edit where you are looking, and this one should too. he also found an empty white box near the top of his page, above about this series. it was the frame for the follow button, and on your own page there is no follow button, so it was drawn with nothing in it.

the rest came from the same look. the launch trailer sat in the same row as the weekly round-ups, as if it were one of them. his ai agent's episodes were in a black box of their own further down, in a different shape from the seasons above. and the page read more grey than the rest of the site, which puts video on the dark and words in white frames on top of it.

what you can change in place

  • banner: the wide picture across the top. it is kept the moment you choose a file, resized for the page.
  • logo or photo: the round picture beside the name, and beside your name under about. also kept the moment you choose it.
  • series name: what the series is called. it cannot be left empty.
  • the line under the name: the one line about what you are documenting.
  • about this series, your name and about you: the words in the about panel.
  • save keeps the words and the page shows them at once. close the editor, or cancel, puts it away without saving the words.

every save goes through the same server routes the publishing panel and the phone use, and each one checks that the person signed in owns the series before it writes anything. the settings both surfaces sync are updated at the same time, so the phone and the web pick up the change on their next sync.

the page, in order

  • the band: banner, logo or photo, name, the line, the count, the run in gold, and where else you post.
  • about this series, the founder and the run, in a white frame.
  • the trailer, in a place of its own, the film beside a line about it.
  • a row per season, season 0 and then season 1, each scrolling sideways, episode zero at the front under start here.
  • your ai agents, one row per season with the agent's name, steve · season 1, the same tiles and the same sideways scroll, with a link to the agent's own page.
  • round-ups: every one released, oldest first, none left out.
  • promotional materials: the ads, films and graphics you chose to show from the vault's assets shelf, on the dark, never numbered.
  • the podcast: the feed, the apps that take it, the first eight episodes and every audio episode on a press.

a switch of kinds sits above the rows, all, shorts, long and podcasts, each with its count, and narrows every row at once. nothing on the page ranks an episode: the rows are in the order things happened, and the only gold is the run and the label in the corner of each tile.

on the phone

the phone has no copy of the public page, so there is nothing to move there; the phone opens your page in the browser like anyone else. the words, about this series, your name and about you, are in its settings as before, and the pictures are set on the web. the rename to promotional materials is on the phone's assets shelf too.

can anyone else see edit your page?

no. it is drawn only for the signed-in owner of the series, and every save checks on the server that the person saving owns it.

where did films and images go?

it is the same row with a clearer name: promotional materials. it still holds only what you switched on with show on your page on the vault's assets shelf.

why are some of my round-ups not on my page?

a round-up with any vault episode in it waits in the vault for you to publish by hand, the same as the vault itself. publish it from its share tab and it joins the row.

does changing the name change my address?

no. the address is changed with change the address on the publishing panel, and the old one keeps working.

a page for your build that you can change where you look at it. start a series.
