a card on screen is something to read. eyes down. one hand full. everyone can tell you are reading, and it kills the one thing the footage had: that it was you.
underway asks out loud, in a voice that sounds like someone across the table. you answer a voice, not a screen.
it hears what you said
after every answer it decides what to ask next. dig into the number you skated past, the name you dropped, the thing you called fine. or move on.
never a script. not the same five questions every night. it starts from a spine and then listens.
it knows when to stop
roughly three minutes of you talking. then it lands the last question, the one that opens tomorrow. there is always one more thread. it leaves it.
you are not performing a perfect take. one take is the take. the cut tidies pauses; it does not rewrite you.
voice, camera, or screen
same interview. pick the way each evening. the episode number carries on regardless.
on camera. voice only. or share your screen and talk it through with you in the corner. a small window stays on top with the clock and a stop button while you are in other windows.

a long day, no face left. tap make it a podcast. answer with your voice for as long as you like. the episode is the conversation itself, both voices, numbered like the rest.

what this is not
it is not a form with fields to fill before you press record.
it is not a piece to camera you have to script first. the live site says it is an interview, not a presentation of yourself.
it is not overnight processing while you sleep. a few minutes after you stop, the episode is ready. that is still step three on the live site.
it is not the same as it reads your day. that is step one — connections and the day log. this page is the live interview itself.

do i have to be on camera?
no. voice only makes an audio episode with the questions kept in. or share your screen. or go on camera. three ways to answer the same interview.
does it ask the same questions every night?
no. it listens after each answer. it also remembers the series, so it can ask about the thing you said you would decide by friday.
how long does it take?
about three minutes of talking. the episode is ready a few minutes after you stop.
is this editing?
no. none of the three steps is editing. you answer. the polish is set once for the series.
why this page exists
gsc still has no query rows for underway.life (as of 11 sep). volume is not measured. founders looking for a diary that actually interviews them will not find a prompt-and-record tool useful.
