The underway directory

Businesses being built right now.

Every one of these is unfinished. Start at episode 1 of any of them and watch it happen in order. Follow one and its new episodes land on your following page.

How the directory works

Series are ranked. Episodes never are.

Every entry here is a whole series: a business being built, documented one numbered episode at a time, in the order it happened, by the person building it. You can start at episode zero of any of them and watch it unfold. Nothing on this page is a finished company with a launch post written afterwards. Most of it was filmed in the last few days.

There is more than one way onto the front. Longest running rewards the series with the most episodes; longest streak rewards the ones that have not missed; filmed recently and newest series make sure a founder on episode 3 is not buried under one on episode 300; most followed shows the series people have chosen to keep up with. No row ranks individual episodes by views, and none ever will: a founder chasing their best-performing episode starts filming for the hook, and the diary stops being honest.

Audience numbers, where a founder chooses to show them, are shown for the whole series and never for one episode. Standing here is earned by showing up, not by going viral.

Consumer apps is not a box the founder ticked. Industries are read from the one line each founder wrote about what they are documenting and from what they said in episode zero, and the founder corrects it if it is wrong. There is no category screen at signup, because that is friction at the point where people quit.

Founders recording in private are not listed until they choose to go public, and when they do, their whole archive arrives at once, dated. Nothing about being absent from this page is a prize withheld; a stealth series is simply not out yet.

Every series page carries a report link and a block control. Reports go to a person, not a model; suspending a series takes it out of the directory and off its page, and it can be undone. Blocked creators are listed under blocked creators and can be unblocked there.

To be listed, record a series and make it public from your account. The directory is small right now, and it will not always be: a series here today gets attention that will be harder to win once there are thousands. Start yours.

Yours could be on here tomorrow.

Record in private for as long as you want. The day you go public, your whole archive lands at once.
