it reads your day
the short version
most founder diaries start with a blank camera.
underway starts with the day you already had.

at 7pm the worst interviewer in the world is an empty lens. it asks nothing. so the day you fixed the thing you were stuck on for three hours comes out as "yeah, it was fine."
you never start from nothing. it reads your day, then asks about what actually happened.

the day log
everything a connection sees goes into a day log, ninety days back from the day you connect it, and every hour after that.
ask in plain words: when did we add the data policy? it answers with the dates, whether or not you ever said it on camera. one press hands the answer into the interview.
you can read everything it remembers, fix it, or delete it. no one else ever sees it.
what this is not
it is not reading your private inbox. the forward address is one-way and optional.
it is not putting colleagues on camera. other people's voices from meetings never become footage. only you are in the episode.
it is not deciding the topic for you. it proposes. you pick.
it is not overnight magic while you sleep. after you answer, the episode is ready a few minutes later. that is step three on the live site.
faqs
do i have to connect everything?
no. connect what you want. tick what tonight is allowed to know.
does it post for me?
posting is separate. a live episode can go to your own channel with one press, on the plans that include it. nothing goes out unless you press it.
what if i have nothing connected?
you can still answer. the interview works without connections. the day-reading is how you avoid a blank start when you do plug things in.
is this the same as private memory?
related, different. private memory is the series night to night — who you mentioned, what you said you'd decide by friday. the day log is what connections saw, with dates, even if it never made it on camera.
why this page exists
gsc still has no query rows for underway.life (as of 11 sep). volume is not measured. the phrase a founder actually types is closer to "diary that knows my commits" than "ai-powered content platform."
