by week three, it knows how you work
the short version
most diaries stay dumb for months.
by week three, underway knows how you work.
milestones when a line is crossed. habits from your own episodes. no scorekeeping.
that is the live heading on underway.life today.
what a milestone is
your first payment. a thousand in a month, then ten, then a hundred. ten customers. episode a hundred. a month of days in a row. any number or date you set yourself.
the first time a line is crossed it asks, once. a few minutes to record a thought now, while it is fresh. or it can wait for the interview, which already knows.
ignore the prompt and it still reaches the interview as a single line. the night you cross the line is not a night to talk about something else.
what habits means here
it learns the same way your phone learns a monday route: from your own episodes.
when you usually start. which nights run long. when you take the podcast instead of the camera. it uses that to set the episode up before you arrive and to time the reminder.
it never uses it to keep score. no targets you did not set. no countdowns. not a word about the night you skipped.
built around the second week
the live site says the real fear is quitting after a week. so the product is built around the second week: a prompt at the same time daily, a clock that stops while you still have something to say, and a streak you set the terms of.
weekdays by default, changeable. one tap declares a pause and the chain survives. no reason asked, no limit. episodes count, not days — that page already exists. this page is the learning that sits on top.
what this is not
it is not private memory of what you said last tuesday. that is a different live section — tonight starts where last night stopped.
it is not reading your day from github and calendar. that is step one.
it is not a streak that shames you. habits here set up the evening. they do not grade it.
it is not overnight processing while you sleep. a few minutes after you stop, the episode is ready.
faqs
do i have to set milestones?
no. you can set any number or date yourself. the product also notices common lines. the first crossing asks once.
does it nag if i skip?
no. not a word about the night you skipped.
is this the same as the day log?
no. the day log answers when you shipped something from connections. milestones and habits are about your series and how you film.
will it decide what i get asked based on what performed?
no. honesty list on the live site: we never let what performed well decide what you get asked.
why this page exists
gsc still has no query rows (analyst: next count sunday from inbox only). volume is not measured. founders looking for a diary that gets quieter and smarter after week two need a page that says so without inventing a streak product.
this is that page, grounded in what the live product does today.
